FCDO Reviews CIPREG Programmes On Montserrat
The Capital Investment Programme for Resilience Economic Growth…CIPRG was under review this week.
Two officials from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, FDCO were on island to look at different aspects of the programme, worth up to 30 million pounds.
According to the Governor’s Office, the visit focused on the Hospital Development Project.
It was planned to coincide with the visit from the team from Article 25, who have been contracted to design and build the new hospital.
The Governor’s Office says the public will soon be able to tour the new hospital development project via an online virtual tour.
Her Excellency the Governor Sarah Tucker said she was delighted to have the design team from Article 25 in Montserrat, to complete the final information collection.
She remarks that the hospital development project and the implementation of the new health information system are both making good progress and are set to change the face of health care on Montserrat.
She thanked the Ministry of Health and the Programme Management Office for the continued hard work in ensuring the development happens.
Governor Tucker said she was also grateful to the UK Government for its continued commitment to the sustainable growth and development of Montserrat.
In addition to the hospital development project, the CIPREG review team reviewed progress on other projects.
These included the sewage plants in Davy Hill and Drummonds, the social housing review project, the Airport Control tower, Asphalt plant, and the refurbishment of two classroom blocks at the Montserrat Secondary School.
