Government of Montserrat Redoubles Efforts to Increase Renewable Energy
The government of Montserrat is redoubling efforts to reduce the island’s dependence on fossil fuel for electricity generation.
The reassurance came from Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell, against the backdrop of recent equipment failures that led to load shedding by Montserrat Utilities Limited.
The government aims to be 100 per cent reliable on renewable energy by the year 2030, and Premier Farrell told the news conference that the government is determined to achieve this goal.
