A New National Curriculum for Primary and Secondary Schools on the Horizon

Montserrat could have a new national curriculum for primary and secondary schools by early 2022.

This timeline was given by lead consultant for the Development of a National Curriculum Framework Dr. Kamla Mungal.

Dr. Mungal says the team from the University of the West Indies Author Lok Jack Global School of Business UWI has already produced a draft primary and secondary school syllabi.

The Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports here conducted a series of consultations with stakeholders this week, as part of the process to develop a national Education Curriculum for the island.

The next move is the training of principals, teachers, and education officials, followed by a tryout of parts of the curriculum later this year.
