St Anthony Freemason Lodge Donates To Vulnerable Children on Montserrat

As the new school term approaches, the St Anthony Freemason Lodge on Montserrat is once again giving tangible support to vulnerable children on the island.

The Lodge handed over a cheque for $2,500.00 to the Social Services Department to help with the provision of support to vulnerable children who are going back to school in September.

St Anthony Lodge a fraternal organization, registered Friendly Society and Non-Profit Organization on Montserrat has long adopted the “Back to School Assistance Project” as one of the charitable causes
to which the Lodge specifically raised funds on an annual basis.

The handover was done by current Master of the Lodge Major Alvin E Ryan to Mrs. Teresena Fergus the Director of Social Services at their offices in the Social Security
building at Little Bay on Thursday.

The donation will be used to provide clothing, books, and to cover transport costs and school lunches for vulnerable children in the community.

The Master of the Lodge Major Alvin Ryan during the hand over stated that st Anthony lodge has always relied on the Social Services Department to coordinate support, make the determination who is most in need, and allocate the donation, based on their criteria.

He says the Lodge has every confidence in that process.

On receiving the contribution, Mrs. Fergus gave a big thank you to St Anthony Lodge on  behalf of the vulnerable children on the island for their timely and continued donation over the years.

Treasurer of the Lodge, Albrun Semper, and members Kenneth Silcott and Mr. Peter W A White were all in attendance at the ceremony.
