Is Montserrat's Immigration Policy a Hindrance to Growing the Island's Population?
There’s been a call for concrete steps to stem the flow of persons leaving that has contributed to the decline of the population.
The issue was raised during an online conference on population and development, organized by former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Shirley Osborne.
The view was expressed that Montserrat needs a change in immigration policy, and that the time has come for politicians to be bold and extend the time for naturalization.
