DMCA to Host Annual Hurricane Conference
Montserrat’s preparation for the Atlantic Hurricane season will be the main focus of attention by the government on Tuesday.
The Disaster Management Coordination Agency DMCA will host its annual Hurricane Conference at the Montserrat Cultural Center.
The conference is being held with most forecasters predicting an above normal season, with activity slightly above the 1991-2020 average.
2021 is predicted to have 22 named storms, 10 hurricanes and four major hurricanes.
During the ceremony remarks will be made by Governor His Excellency Andrew Pearce, Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell, and Director of the DMCA Major Alvin Ryan.
Major Ryan wants individuals or families to have their own hurricane preparedness plan which includes protection for their homes.
