Agriculture Department Makes Strides in Increasing Food Production
Efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture to boost local food production has been given a shot in the arm.
Minister the Honourable Crenston Buffonge says the plantain tissue culture programme is showing promising signs.
Mr. Buffonge says the production of fresh plantain stock would increase the availability of the crop on the island.
He says the ministry is also targeting other crops such as pineapple and banana.
