Premier the Honourable Joseph Farrell Announces a 206.09 Million Dollar Budget for the New Fiscal Year
Premier and Minister of Finance the Honourable Joseph Farrell presented a 206.09 million dollar budget on Thursday.
He presented the 2021/2022 budget statement during a sitting of the legislative assembly at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
It was delivered under the theme ‘Beyond The New
Normal: Recovery, Growth and Opportunity in The Age of COVID-19’, acknowledging that COVID-19 will be a reality for the foreseeable future.
He announced that recurrent expenditure for this fiscal year is 136.34 million dollars.
Premier Farrell says revenue this year is estimated at 134.34 million dollars
Meantime the premier announced that funding for capital projects would total 69.75 million dollars

He says the expectation of Government is that the Capital expenditures will spill off into the economy and stimulate the private sector.
