Governor Andrew Pearce Offers Apology Over the Handling of the $50 Voucher Scheme for Taking the COVID Jab
Governor His Excellency Andrew Pearce has sought to provide clarity behind a recently announced initiative geared at encouraging residents to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
On Wednesday, Governor Pearce announced, that two supermarkets will offer $50 vouchers to persons who decide to take the jab.
This created a backlash on social media and the two supermarkets declined to take part.
Governor Pearce took the airways, on Thursday to issue an apology and to explain the thought behind the initiative.
Officials here are ramping up the vaccination drive as there are approximately 900 Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines left from the first batch that are set to expire at the end of this month.
Governor Pearce was asked what would happen if the vaccines expire.
