Local Financial Analyst and Economist Says Poor Forecasting Created Multi-Million Dollar Deficit Montserrat 20/21 Budget
A local Financial Analyst and Economist has estimated that poor forecasting rather than the economy doing better as the main reason for the drastic reduction in the government’s budget deficit.
Peter Queeley was referencing the 22-million-dollar deficit that was forecast for the 2020-2021 financial year.
According to reports, that deficit has been substantially reduced or erased.
Mr. Queeley believes the financial secretary at the time erred in his assumption.
