Montserrat Increases its COVID-19 Options in Light of the Omicron Variant Global Tidal Wave
With Montserrat now said to be in a better position in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the island’s Governor is urging residents to maintain a high level of vigilance with the advent of the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
The recent arrival of the super cold freezer to accommodate the Pfizer vaccine, means that Montserrat is now able to have double vaccination options in the fight against the COVID-19 virus.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is already in use on island, but the way is now clear for Pfizer doses to be brought on island in very short order.
This new option increases national efforts to safeguard residents on Montserrat.
During his recent press conference, Governor, His Excellency Andrew Pearce said that although Montserrat is in what he refers to as “a relatively good place”, residents cannot become complacent with the latest Omicron variant of the virus, wreaking havoc across the world.
Governor Pearce is encouraging residents to take the COVID-19 booster shot when it becomes available shortly.
