Montserrat Celebrates Energy Month in November
The Energy Division at the Ministry of Communications, Works, Labour and Energy… MCWLE is celebrating CARICOM Energy Month throughout November, under the local theme, “Energy Revolution Powering Montserrat’s Evolution”.
It will be hosting various activities throughout the month, which include a church service at the Brades Pentecostal Church, a four-day school lecture series, a radio quiz every Saturday, a school tour of energy assets, and a showcase of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Energy Minister, Dr. the Honourable Samuel Joseph, says this will be an opportunity to show that the island can work toward reducing fossil fuel usage and utilize more renewable energy.
Under the regional theme, ‘From Dependence to Resilience: Fueling our Recovery with Sustainable Energy’, the focus of the month will be on how energy can remain a strategic priority for all CARICOM countries, despite the unprecedented challenges in a worsening climate, the ongoing public health crisis, and declining economies.
