Montserratian Climate Climate Activist Calls For Environmental Resilience

A young Montserratian attending one of the biggest conferences on climate change is calling for Montserrat and other small island States to focus on resilience and economy building in contribution to reducing climate change globally.

Ashneil Jeffers is attending the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference- COP26, which has been in full swing for over a week in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Summit concludes on November 12th.

Speaking on the latest Cultural Show programme, Jeffers apprised listeners of his experience at the conference, such as networking opportunities and providing his opinions on how helpful he believed the conference could be.

He was able to attend COP26 with the help of youth organization, Unite for Climate Action, who held a crowdfunding campaign to send various young people to experience and network at the conference.
