ECCB/Financial Partners Hold Small Business Symposium
Entrepreneurs and small business owners here will converge at the Arts and Education Center in Brades on Wednesday October 13th to share ideas on developing small enterprises on Montserrat.
The mini symposium is organized by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and financial partners in Montserrat.
Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Country Representative, Angela Estwick, says the forum, tagged “Celebrating Entrepreneurs,” is one of the activities for Financial Information Month.
Among the prominent speakers is Deputy Premier Dr. the Honourable Samuel Joseph, who will address entrepreneurship and innovation.
Business coach Nerissa Golden, meantime, will speak on the topic “How your business can stay afloat in tough times,” while project manager Agatha Aspin will introduce participants to the Government of Montserrat’s Enterprise Development Scheme (EDS).
The ECCB is using the month of October to share financial information with the public on ZJB Radio.
Topics covered to date include “Make saving, budgeting and investing a habit for a more comfortable tomorrow,” and “Let’s Get Digital: Equipping yourself for the digital way of life.”
Other panel discussions scheduled include one on Thursday 21 October on the topic “Let’s Get Digital: Equipping yourself for the digital way of life.
Financial Information Month is observed every October under the theme Financial Empowerment Through Education.
It is geared towards attaining a financially developed and vibrant Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) region that fosters strong and sustainable economic growth and the improved well-being of the residents and citizens.
