Great Enthusiam For National Tree Planting Day Despite Covid-19
Not even the Covid-19 situation could have placed a damper on the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Housing and the Environment’s annual Tree Planting Day Distribution event this year.
The ministry distributed trees to residents between 7am and 2pm on Wednesday outside of its headquarters in Brades.
Residents were able to pick up their trees in an orderly manner.
Motorists were able to use a drive through service to collect their purchases, while pedestrians lined up as always, adhereing to social distancing and mask-wearing protocols.
Director of Environment, Ernestine Corbett, said the department had no difficulties with persons following the requirements.
She says had there been no extra restrictions, there may have been a bigger turn out this year.
