COVID-19 Protocols to be Observed on National Tree Planting Day

The Ministry of the Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment is urging the public to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions on National Tree Planting Day, on Wednesday.

The Ministry will be distributing trees on that day between 7am and 2pm at the ministry headquarters in Brades.

Environment Officer Stephen Mendes says the operation will be different this year because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Mr. Mendes says a drive through service will also be available.

Meanwhile the Royal Montserrat Police Service says during the distribution of plants on Wednesday the Shinlands Road will be operated as a one way to all vehicular traffic from 7am to 2pm.

Traffic will flow through the Shinlands Public Road towards the Ministry of Agriculture only.

Vehicles would not be allowed to enter the Shinlands Road from Bebe’s Bakery.
