Civil Service Association At Nassau Conference
The Montserrat Civil Service Association (MCSA) was represented at the recent 49th Caribbean Public Services Association (CPSA) Conference in Nassau, Bahamas
The July 21st to 26th Conference was held under the theme: “Stronger Affiliates Fostering Greater Achievements”.
The MCSA President, Nyota Mulcare and Secretary/Future Leaders Chair, Michelle Cassell joined representatives from other affiliate associations to include Anguilla, Antigua/Barbuda, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominica, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago at the conference
Both Mulcare and Cassell were part of what has been described as vibrant discussions in all forums to include the Future Leaders, Women and Men’s Forums respectively for the first two days, a joint workshop on the third day, and Conference Business Sessions during the final two days.
President Mulcare conveyed warm fraternal greetings on behalf of the MCSA at the Opening Ceremony in the Presence of Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Bahamas, Dr. Hubert A. Minnis.
Mrs. Mulcare also participated in the Women’s Forum and presented the Country Report, participated in a Panel Discussion where she presented on the topic: ‘Are Public Sector Unions Losing their Sting?’
Miss Cassell, meantime, participated in the Future Leader’s Forum, as well as moderated a joint panel discussion on the conference theme.
Panellist included NUPW President, Akanni McDowell and DPSA President, Steve Joseph.
Montserrat received honorary mention in the Caribbean Public Services Association Annual Conference Magazine and Newsletter, where highlights from MCSA’s Youth Week Awards for 2016 and 2018 were featured.
Clips from hosting the 2019 CPSA EXCO during the period 27-29 March 2019, in Montserrat were also included.
