Montserrat Cyber Security Given A Boost By Cadet Morris
Montserratians continue to make the island proud academically.
This time, it is Denfield “Cadet” Morris who has attained his Masters of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and Data information Security Management at the Florida Institute of Technology.
Morris recently underwent and successfully completed training in Advanced Certified Ethical Hacking and Certified Expert Penetration Tester in Washington D.C, USA and Russia respectively.
Morris began the path to attaining his Masters in 2014, but was only accepted into the Master's Programme in 2018. Prior to this, he undertook a series of Continuing Education Units - a unit of credit equal to 10 hours of participation in an accredited programme-.
Morris' degree has a Concentration in Information security concepts, governance, data-base, The protection of computer systems/software and information/cyber security breaches, networks & data access, Proficiency in risk management, cyber-crimes management and Computer network penetration testing and ethical hacking & counter measures.
Morris’ achievement is great news as the island works towards keeping safe from cyber-attacks and the implementation of National Cyber-security Incident Response Center.
Morris’ programme was funded by the Ministry of Communications, Works, Energy and Labour, the Human Resources Management Unit Training Division and Ministry of Education.
