RMPS Investigating a Vessel Fire Which has Resulted in Injuries
Two individuals have sustained injuries in a vessel fire at sea.
The Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS) says it is currently carrying out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding fire on a vessel, in the early morning hours of Sunday August 18.
The vessel, which was on fire, was spotted between Montserrat and Nevis, while officers were patrolling in the Heliconia Star Police vessel.
The officers went to the boat to conduct further investigations and subsequently rescued two male occupants who were brought on land, and taken to the Glendon Hospital for treatment.
While the RMPS cannot yet disclose all the details surrounding this investigation, they have indicated that both males are Vincentians.
The RMPS is currently in contact with authorities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and will provide further details on this matter.
