Brandts Attorney Fires Back at DPP on Fair Trial Debate

The saga surrounding the High Court matter involving veteran attorney at law David S. Brandt continues.

This time, a member of the defense team has taken a swipe at the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Oris Sullivan, for statements he made relating to Mr Brandt getting a fair trial on Montserrat

Earlier this week, the DPP said that contrary to what has been masquerading in the community and on social media, Mr. Brandt, whom he confirmed has been committed to stand trial in Montserrat by High Court Judge Justice Garret Evans, would be afforded a fair trial.

However, Warren Cassell said that it was the prosecution who made an application early last year to transfer the trial to another jurisdiction, citing issues that would affect a fair trial.

ZJB News contacted the DPP who said he would not be phased by what he referred to as distractions.

Mr. Sullivan says he stands by his earlier statement and wishes to have nothing further to say on the matter.

Mr. Brandt is being charged on eight counts including exploitation of girls under the age of 18 years.
