Revenue Up for MAC During 2018 Festival
The Montserrat Arts Council says it generated an increase in revenue for the 2018 Year End Festival.
MAC says revenue for 2018 covered 19% of the Festival’s overall operational cost, an increase from 16.56% in 2017.
This has been attributed to sponsorship and good fiscal management.
Director Chad Cumberbatch says despite a poor economic climate, MAC is very appreciative of the generosity displayed by corporate citizens.
Cumberbatch adds that the growth and success of the Festival would not have been possible without the hard work of the Montserrat Festival Committee, which worked tirelessly to produce the events for patrons to enjoy.
Montserrat’s annual end of year Festival culminated on January 1st with the customary Street Parade and Closing Ceremony.
The Festival saw a grand opening ceremony, three Calypso shows, a Carol Singing event, Soca Monarch competition, a joint Queen Show and Teen Pageant, Regional Female Calypso competition, Festival Day, two Street Jams and an Art Exhibition organized by the Montserrat Arts Council and the Montserrat Festival Committee.
Private show promoters populated the Festival calendar with various concerts, after parties and children fun days.
There was also an increase in children’s activities and fun days.
