Hospital Project a Priority for MCAP Administration

The Movement For Change and Prosperity (MCAP) led administration says the delivery of a hospital for Montserrat is its number one priority.

The fit for purpose hospital it says would be funded through the Montserrat Capital Investment Programme for Resilient Economic Growth (CIPREG).

Under the programme, the UK Government will provide up to £30 million over five years for strategic infrastructure development on Montserrat, to support economic growth, enhance resilience against natural disasters and promote the role of private sector.

In providing the public with an update on developments within his Ministry, Deputy Premier Dr. Samuel Joseph said it would not be prudent for his government to move forward with other projects until the hospital is fully appraised.

The Deputy Premier also addressed speculation that the MCAP administration intends to discontinue the Port Development Project.
