Montserratians Invited To Apply For Chevening Scholarships

Montserratians are now invited to apply for Chevening Scholarships.

The Applications for the Prestigious Scholarship Programme Opened on Monday August 6th and will close on November 6th.

Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals with demonstrable leadership potential who also have strong academic backgrounds.

The scholarship offers full financial support to study for any eligible master’s degree at any UK university whilst also gaining access to a wide range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences.

Over the last 35 years, 50 000 outstanding professionals have had the opportunity to develop in the UK through Chevening.

There are more than 1 500 scholarships on offer globally for the 2019/2020 academic year, demonstrating the UK’s ongoing commitment towards developing the leaders of tomorrow.

The call for new applications follows the selection of three scholars from Montserrat for the 2018/2019 academic year.

To be eligible for a chevening award, one must have at least an upper second class undergraduate degree and at least two years work experience.

Montserrat has been receiving scholarships through the Chevening Programme since the 1980’s.

Some of the most prominent national scholars include the islands Health and Education Minister, the Honourable Delmaude Ryan, the acting Chief Human Resource Officer Cheverlyn Williams and the Government's Chief Architect Linda Dias.
