Two Montserratians Through to the Antigua Calypso Monarch Finals
Two Montserrat- born artistes are through to the finals of the Antigua/Barbuda Calypso Monarch competition.
They are Keithroy “De Bear” Morson and Eugene “Kaseba” Silcott
Both booked their places in the calypso showpiece event after the semi finals on Sunday night.
De Bear, who won the calypso monarch four times in his adopted island, will sing “Black on Black” and “Tek It Back” in the final, which is carded for Friday August 3rd.
On the other hand, Kaseba, who has never won the crown, is likely to perform “Ungrateful Good” and “Party Atmosphere”.
The monarch will take home the winner’s purse of $30,000.
$24,000 goes to second place and $21,000 to the third place finisher.
All other finalists will receive $7,800 for that night.
The reigning monarch King Zachari will be defending his title.
The other finalists are Queen Thalia, Singing Althea, Stumpy, Black Madhi, King Fiah, Sage and Douglas.
