Honourable Environment Minister in Montserrat, David Osborne

The incoming Chairman of the OECS Council of Ministers of the Environment and Sustainability (COMES) is calling on the residents in all the islands to value the importance of the region’s collective environment.

Honourable Environment Minister in Montserrat, David Osborne, was at the time addressing the opening of the 5th COMES meeting at the Montserrat Cultural Centre Tuesday evening.

Mr. Osborne emphasizes that the potential and actual threats the region faces, being prone to natural and man-made disasters, generate a need for Montserrat and the rest of the region to join forces to build resilience.

He encourages the dialogue to continue towards climate change adaptation

Meantime, the Director General of the OECS Commission also underscored the importance of the advancement of the agenda of environmental sustainability in the sub-region.
