Montserrat National Trust Promotes Local Biodiversity

The Director of the Montserrat National Trust (MNT) is hoping an exhibition launched here last week will raise awareness about the importance of Montserrat’s biodiversity.

Mrs. Sarita Francis says the exhibition, which runs until August 31st, gives a glimpse into the wealth of Montserrat’s biodiversity on land and in the ocean.

This results from a collaborative effort with local and international partners, including underwater photographers Emanuel Gonçalves, and Joe Lepor, who captured the marine fauna of Montserrat during a scientific assessment in 2015.

Mrs. Francis is also hopeful that the display would reignite interest in restarting the national fish competition.
