Montserrat Comes Up Against El Salvador in CONCACAF Nations League

Montserrat will play El Salvador in its first game of the new CONCACAF Nations League in September.

The match carded for September 9th, 2018 will be played at the Blakes football complex.

Montserrat also has a home game against Belize on October 14th, 2018 before playing away to Aruba on November 16th.

The national team will then wrap its participation in the qualifying round with a match against the Cayman Islands in Georgetown on March 22nd 2019.

The CONCACAF Nations League is a new national team competition designed to maximize the quality, quantity and frequency of competitive matches for all Member Associations. 

The teams will be divided into three different leagues with a champion to be crowned at the end of each edition. 

The new tournament will bring meaningful home-and-away matches featuring competition for League titles, performance prizes, and will include promotion and relegation within the system of three leagues. 

The Confederation’s teams will also contend for the right to play in international championships such as the Gold Cup. 

Additionally, the League of Nations will inform a CONCACAF ranking system that will be used as the basis for future World Cup Qualifying seeding.
