Former Chief Minister Backs CCJ
Former Chief Minister David Brandt is in support of Montserrat adopting the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) as its final appellate court.
Mr. Brandt stated his position during a recent debate examining whether or not the island should make the CCJ its final court of appeal instead of the Privy Council in England.
The Attorney at Law argued that having produced distinguished lawyers and judges, the region has proven that it is more than capable of managing its judicial affairs.
