Calypso Pundit Calls for Elimination at Band House
A calypso pundit supports the suggestion to start eliminating calypsonians in the band house before they reach the first round of the main competition.
Oris Sullivan, a seasoned judge and commentator says although the standard of the calypso eliminations last Saturday was good generally, there were some performances that were well below par.
He feels that nothing less but the best should be on display at the main shows.
One of the songs that has caught the attention of the public is Lord Caesar’s rendition “Fred & Ned.”
The song, which details a public spat between two grown men earlier this year, has drawn the ire of family members.
However, Sullivan, who is the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in his day job, does not see any legal hurdles for the young performer.
