Montserrat National Youth Parliament Joins Eastern Caribbean Youth Parliament Network

The Montserrat National Youth Parliament has officially joined the Eastern Caribbean Youth Parliament Network (ECYPN).

The formal induction and signing took place on Tuesday in the parliamentary chambers in Antigua and Barbuda, as part of the ECYPN 2026 initiative held under the theme, “Bridging Cultures, Building Futures.”

Speaker of the House, D’Vynne Piper-Henry, and Youth Parliamentarians Hadassah Williams and Neelesh Sadhwani represented Montserrat at the October 18th through 21st regional event.

The initiative brought together young representatives from across the Eastern Caribbean, including Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Anguilla, with a focus on developing leadership skills, strengthening parliamentary knowledge and encouraging young people to contribute to regional development.

Ahead of the formal induction, the youth delegation paid a courtesy call on Government House on Monday, where they were welcomed by Antigua and Barbuda’s Governor-General, Sir Rodney Williams, and Lady Williams, President of the Halo Foundation.

During the meeting, Sir Rodney encouraged the young parliamentarians to pursue educational opportunities, diversify their skills and remain committed to personal development and lifelong learning.

Throughout the programme, delegates had the opportunities to strengthen their understanding of parliamentary processes, build connections with fellow young leaders, and participate in activities that promote cooperation and cultural exchange.
