The Government of Montserrat will soon commence work to revise the current pension scheme.
This was revealed by Premier the Hon. Reuben T. Meade at the 2026 Budget Speech on April 20th.
The premier says this measure forms part of the government’s push to prioritize people, especially the vulnerable and retired. He also noted that plans are underway to explore allowing the Social Security Fund to make government pension payments, enabling ease of navigation for pensioners.
