Growing up in neighborhoods like Trials, Gingoes, Kinsale, Long Ground and Ryners Village areas now gobbled up by the Soufriere Hills Volcano, has contributed to this lady’s early socialization and understanding of the cultural mores that have helped shape and continue to shape her interest in and understanding people and which later led her to pursue a career in Media and Communications following a four and half year stint as a Primary school Teacher.
Ms. Willock is an Educator, Broadcaster, Journalist, Communication Consultant, Social development and cultural activist. She is a retired Media Manager but continues to share her expertise and Media Management skills with various media institutions and other organizations within and without the Caribbean.
Rose has performed at various levels in her career, as Broadcaster, journalist, Producer, Media Manager and trainer at Radio Montserrat, The National Broadcasting Corporation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Antilles Radio Corporation - Radio Antilles, and as Coordinator of an Environmental Awareness Program of the Montserrat National Trust/RARE, (Philadelphia, USA) which made her Island’s National Symbols - the Montserrat Oriole, the National Bird, and the Heliconia, the National Flower, household names.
As a freelance Broadcaster and Journalist, Communications Consultant, Events Coordinator, and Cultural activist, this lady continues to devote her professional life in trying to make a positive difference in the lives of people, bringing the issues to them, giving them a voice to tell their stories, share their faith and in so doing, indicating to all that everyone can excel against all odds.
