Under the theme, “Unlocking the Leaders within, the MNI Speakers Club has elected its Executive Committee for the 2026/2027 Toastmasters year.
The newly elected officers are:
President – Daphne Furlonge
Vice President Education – Milykhia McKenzie-Weekes
Vice President Membership – K. Vanessa White
Vice President Public Relations – Guvinda Hemraj
Secretary – Zelma White
Treasurer – K Vanessa White
Sergeant at Arms – Vera Fenton
The incoming executive team is committed to building on the club’s tradition of excellence in communication and leadership development while creating new opportunities for members and the wider community.
Planned initiatives for the year include enhanced member training, greater public engagement through debates and community programmes, the development of a Gavel Club for young people, and the introduction of leadership opportunities to prepare future club leaders.
Incoming President Daphne Furlonge said that the club’s theme for 2026-27, ‘Together We Learn, Lead, Succeed,’ reflects their belief that growth happens best in community.
She is inviting anyone wishing to develop greater self-confidence whilst improving their communication and leadership skills to join the club on this journey.
