BASIL CHAMBERS

Basil Chambers is the ‘morning man’ on ZJB Radio and is a broadcasting icon in the Caribbean. He is voice of "The Breakfast Show"  and the popular segment "What's On Your Mind." The Breakfast Show is designed to make its audience feel alive, and thankful with first-class programming, engaging discussions and comforting adult contemporary music.

His career path began at Radio Antilles, ABS Radio and Television in Antigua.

Basil is not just a radio personality, he is a well-respected Emcee and host of major local and regional shows. He is well sought after for shows such as The Jaycees Queen Show in Antigua, the Leeward Island Calypso Competition in Anguilla and the Antigua and Nevis Calypso Finals.

He is an avid sports fan - especially cricket and has a lifelong interest in the arts. Basil embraces the community spirit and participates in a lot of activities on the island. His infamous fundraising birthday bash is a go to yearly event.

He has received several awards including the Funky Man Award and the Diaspora Award for motivating and inspiring listeners throughout the Diaspora – keeping them informed on everything Montserrat. Basil has also been the previous recipient of the ZJB’s Employee Year of the Year.

A family man at heart, Basil was dealt a double blow when he recently lost both his parents within six weeks of each other. He remains strong however and forever devoted to his children. Basil is grateful to his beloved grandmother who raised him; as well as community role models such as the Honourable Rose Willock, Nurse Joseph and Teacher Sarah Allen.

His aptitude for communicating with people, particularly an Invisible audience, makes Basil one of Montserrat’s national treasures.
